Parents

You are your child's first teacher and most consistent therapist. Attaining the most successful outcome always requires parents and caregivers to be open to new ideas, grounded in their love and advocacy for their child, and willing to continue suggested treatment activities at home.

Those who know a child best are able to help therapists better understand the challenges that affect a child's skills, performance, and behavior. Regardless of diagnosis, extent of disability, the child's temperament, or potential, parents and other caregivers are essential to any successful treatment program.

At Ovspring, our philosophy is family-centred care. This is reflected in both our approach to clinical practice and in the programs we run. Our Parent Support Program (PSP), includes support group sessions, focus groups as well as workshops and talks where parents or caregivers can learn new skills to complement home treatment programs. We look forward to supporting our parents, caregivers as well as teachers in their ability to support and advocate for their child.
