Social Communication (STARS)

STARS (Social Thinking, Attention, Regulation, Self-esteem) Group (7 to 8 year olds) 

The group aims to assist the school-going child develop and facilitate increased self confidence, ability to interact and communicate with their peers at play and work. Sessions will consist of play and group discussions - utilising variety of cooperative and role-play games and activities. Parent education and generalization of skills during the week are important components. Children will participate in the first hour with Ovspring's speech-language and occupational therapists, and parents/carers are invited to join in the following half hour for in parent education, homework and relaxation activities.

Fees: $120 plus GST, per 1.5 hour session/week
Payable in blocks of 6 sessions 

Note: Parent's or Caregiver's participation at the group is essential for carry-through at home. No refunds for no-shows. Non-Ovspring families are welcome to apply, on a first come first come basis and may be requested to come for an intake consultation.
